That’s right, Arizona! This desert state has a lot more to offer than you think! For example, it’s not all desert, believe it or not. So, if you’re looking for some places to visit, look no further. Arizona has so many great spots to explore and we’ve got a list of all the top spots.
Sedona
Sedona really is a nature lover’s dream. Surrounded by Sedona’s famous red rocks, this unique town is filled with hiking trails, all of which have gorgeous viewpoints. Sites like Cathedral Rock attract tourists from all over. The town itself is quite artsy, with people coming from far away to experience Sedona’s energy vortex. The area has become both a spiritual hotspot and an adventure hotspot, with jeep tours and let’s just say, a lot of crystals.
Grand Canyon
It goes without saying, but if you haven’t seen the Grand Canyon yet, you NEED to. They aren’t kidding when they say the Grand Canyon is a natural wonder. This insane structure has been constantly developing over the last 17 million years. It’s a mile deep, 277 miles long and up to 18 miles wide. If that alone isn’t reason enough for you to visit, you should know that there is so much to do here. Whether you’re simply interested in some breathtaking hikes, or you’re looking for something a bit more thrilling like white water rafting, visiting the Grand Canyon has something for you to enjoy. You also can’t miss Horseshoe Bend, which you’ve probably seen before, more specifically, on your Instagram feed. We like the Grand Canyon, we’ve already done a deeper dive into everything there is to do while you’re there.
Phoenix
After visiting some of Arizona’s outdoor and natural beauty areas, it’s time to venture out to the city. The capital city has just about everything you’d want from a city. If you’re a big foodie, no worries, you’ll find a plethora of great restaurants here. Depending on when you visit, you could also go to a home Diamondbacks, Arizona Cardinals or Phoenix Suns game. If you’re more specifically a baseball fan, then going to Phoenix for spring training is also a fun option for something to do.
Antelope Canyon
This popular photography spot just had to make our list. The stunning canyons are located on Navajo land and were made into a Navajo Tribal Park in 1997. The sleek sides of the canyon glow when the sun hit them, creating an almost magical experience you have to see to believe. The canyon is accessed exclusively through tours, as it is easily affected by monsoon season and flash floods. We see this as a good thing though! It’ll never be too crowded for the perfect view.
Havasu Falls
Yes, we know, another hiking destination, but you won’t want to miss this one. This insane waterfall is bright blue, especially next to all the red rocks surrounding it. The falls are a part of Havasu Canyon, which has multiple waterfalls and creeks, but the most popular is this one. The gorgeous Havasu Falls drops 100 feet over a cliff. Its gorgeous blue color comes from the high levels of calcium carbonate the waters contain. If you have the time though, the many other waterfalls within Havasu Canyon are also breathtaking, and the water has the same gorgeous bright blue color that the main waterfall has.
Keep in mind, this is just a short list of some of our favorites. There’s so much more to do in Arizona, that we’ve just scratched the surface. We do know one thing for sure though, these breathtaking canyons and stunning views are sure to amaze you!
