What to Eat
Fresh caught fish – most restaurants will serve up the freshest seafood you have ever tasted – our favorite is battered or pan-fried fish at Flying Fish, Sheraton Fiji on Denarau Island. The whole ambience and tropical breezes just add to it all somehow.
Lovo – A traditional Fijian cooking method where food is stacked in an underground “oven” over coals. Produces a rich smokey flavour to any vegetables and meats (especially pork)
Kokoda – delicate morsels of uncooked fish, marinated in Lolo (coconut cream), lime, and some native spices. Eaten raw, this is a taste sensation during the tropical heat of a Fijian day.
Kava – enjoy a Kava drinking ceremony (Yaqona), where villagers share around a half coconut shell filled with a bitter white liquid. Be careful, it’s easy going down but packs a punch the next day!

Getting There: Cruise or fly in to Fiji.
Getting Around: Taxi is the most common form of transport for tourists to get around, buses and hire cars are also available. Between islands there are water-taxi’s and resort organised boat transfers.
