Your First Timer’s Guide to Las Vegas

It’s finally happening: You’re heading to Vegas. Whether you’re going for a bachelor/bachelorette party, a family vacation, or just a weekend getaway, Vegas has a lot to offer, and it can be overwhelming when trying to plan your trip. Luckily, however, you have Must Do Travels and we are here to help you get your Vegas ducks in a row.

Las Vegas Strip
Holy lights!

The Strip

This is, without a doubt, the main attraction of Las Vegas. Think of The Strip as Las Vegas’ Main Street. It’s where you’ll find all of the major hotels and casinos, the big Cirque de Soleil shows, and the nightclubs. If you’re staying in a hotel on The Strip, we recommend picking one that not only suits your interests, but is also conveniently located to what you want to do, because while everything on The Strip looks closely packed together, this stretch of fun is long and will require quite a bit of walking.

Freemont Street
Crazy in the day and at night.

Fremont Street

Fremont Street is Las Vegas’ historical district and it is definitely worth the visit. It’s much smaller than the Strip, but has plenty to offer. On the West end, enjoy shopping at the Fremont Street Experience, a covered mall with a nightly light and sound show. On the East end of Fremont Street, take a walk around the Fremont East Entertainment District, a three-block stretch of arts and entertainment.

Don’t know if your family is up for this …

With the Family

Vegas is often depicted as the City of Sin in the films, but don’t let that fool you into thinking that this glitzy oasis isn’t family friendly. If you’re thinking about booking a family vacation to Vegas, there are dozens of activities to choose from every day. Take your kids to see shows like one of the Cirque du Soleil performances, or any of the free shows that occur nightly outside most of the Strip hotels. Vegas is also home to Madame Tussaud’s Wax Museum where the recreations of celebrities are jaw-droppingly impressive. If yours is a family of thrill seekers, go ride the Big Apple Coaster at New York-New York. Like we said, there’s a lot to choose from, and this is just the tip of the iceberg!

So now you’re as ready as one can be before heading to Las Vegas for the first time. Whether you’re there to party, shop, or just see the sights, Las Vegas truly has something for everyone to enjoy. Ready to book your trip? Let’s go!
