Varkala beach, Kerala
If the Goa beaches are prominent as party beaches, the beaches in Kerala are known for the natural element and Ayurvedic stint or the Hindu holy therapy system. The beaches in Kerala do have these Ayurvedic massages and prominent among them is Varkala that is also known for some gorgeous cliffs and temples.
Darjeeling, West Bengal
India is fringed by the majestic Himalayan mountain range in the northern border and prominent among the Himalayan hill destinations in the country is the town of Darjeeling in West Bengal that is host to some great Nepali culture and cuisine besides having amazing views of the gorgeous Kanchenjungha peaks.
Ladakh, Jammu and Kashmir
Ladakh is the Buddhist area in the Islamic state of Jammu and Kashmir in the northern fringe of India and is known for some great Tibetan culture and cuisine including monasteries, chanting and meditation by monks and the area is also a mountain desert and you can even watch some camels among the hills or some great snow ways.
Pushkar, Rajasthan
Rajasthan on the northwestern fringe of India is a desert state and has some hot desert destinations like Jaisalmer near the border with Pakistan. But if you want some hot Hindu religious fervor in the desert, head to the holy town of Pushkar that boasts a holy lake, that is like an oasis in the desert, and some temples.
