Our Guide to Wellness Vacations

We all need a break sometimes, and the perfect opportunity for a break is a vacation. Here’s the twist. Instead of imagining yourself sitting by a pool on your average family trip, let’s get a little more creative. What you need is a wellness vacation — a trip designed for your own relaxation and hipster self. You may be wondering, what is a wellness vacation? You see, there are many different kinds of wellness vacations. Maybe you’re a spa lover or more of a yoga person. Either way, there’s a refreshing destination for you and your much-needed meditation. Here are some of our ideas!

Spa Resorts

Probably the most popular wellness vacation to take, resorts with spas are often the way to go. They’re easy to find and vary in quality and price. Not only that, but chances are, they’re located in the perfect remote location that you need for your little getaway. To get you started, here are some of our favorite options.

You could always bring a little spa with you.

If you’re looking for a more affordable option, Vida Retreat and Spa in Costa Rica is a great option that won’t break the bank. The resort is surrounded by hot springs and mountains, giving you perfect views and making it a great place to sit back and relax.

For those looking for a great spot to bask on the beach, be sure to visit Le Blanc Spa Resort in Cancún, Mexico. This spa is an adult-only, beachside resort taken straight from your dreams. Honestly, what’s more therapeutic than sipping on a pina colada by the ocean and not having to worry about a babysitter?

Get Outdoors to Destress

If sitting by the pool with a drink is not quite your style, that’s okay! Sometimes getting active is the best option for a little relief retreat. Whether it’s a great hike with a view or A LOT of yoga classes, we’ve got a few ideas for you.

One of the easiest, and best, locations for a little break is Sedona, Arizona. In Sedona, we’ve more specifically found the perfect resort for you, Mii Amo. Mii Amo has a string of adobe buildings for you to stay in. Along with the incredible architecture, there is a wide variety of activities for you to enjoy during your visit. If you’re not interested in spending your days hiking the red rocks, Mii Amo also has yoga classes for you to take up, or maybe you’re more interested in a tennis match. Oh, and of course, there’s a spa. Leave your evenings open though, because nothing sounds more relaxing than the stargazing class they offer. Count us in!

If you’re looking for a little change in scenery, venture on up to the Ainsworth Hotsprings in British Columbia. Trust us, if you fit some healing hot springs into your vacation, ] it’s bound to be relaxing. While you’re up there, you can choose to visit the Mountain Trek Fitness Retreat & Health Spa. This resort might as well be straight from heaven. Wake up early for some sunrise yoga and then soak up the minerals in that natural mountain water. And of course, how could it not be on our list, without a spa?
